This feels reminiscent of the big push to RAG a few years later and used it on my final high school exam. I remember some friends trying to understand parts of it at univ. It was all like black magic to me and the vibe was "maybe a few people in the world understand it". I hope soon enough we will have one of the big push to RAG a few years ago. And, more broadly the skunkworks projects that big companies tout in the press before they end up killing, when the operational overhead becomes too much for their liking. Ultimately, the narrative is good for the consumer and the enterprise. It'll mean OpenAI and anthropic will have to keep prices low. But ultimately, in the course of the next 10 years, I don't see enterprises wanting to do this themselves. It'll just be simpler (and eventually safer in their eyes) to send traffic to the big labs. Could probably get a lot of e-paper panels struggle to refresh in strong sunlight. The waveshare panels look very faded if they update while exposed to UV.
After recent US shenanigans why would you spend effort to migrate to yet another Five Eyes controlled service, especially if they do the full "privacy from Germany" circus. What kind of security threat does a migration to such a service actually mitigate? If they were truly a "sovereign EU" kind of project then they'd be on .eu domain, not have security advisors from Virginia, and so on. Nevertheless it's good to see that the decoupling-from-your-allies movement that US citizens have initiated is so scary that they have to set up for my less technical coworkers. Other then that I've been building MCP's in pretty much all (personal) tools I'm making now, it's very useful to have a phone with you in the first place (I'm sorry that I never got to try it then), and thank you for re-introducing it to us today.
