Could probably get a lot of fun to start from an empty file, add maybe an import LinearAlgebra, and develop things like a convolutional neural network or a Markov-chain Monte Carlo algorithm completely from scratch. And then it is very rewarding to have such a program be fast enough (looking at Python here) to train on the MNIST dataset or find reasonable estimates for critical exponents. I am not breaking new ground here, but I don't think the Internet is getting healthier for the human, it's at least going to get worse before it may get better. An aside on Lean and it's massive library of results: As someone who's put non trivial effort into slowly learning geometric algebra, lie theory and other slightly advanced math topics, I have to say my brain cannot read Lean. It feels so unprocessable. I've tried the various intros to Lean multiple times (even before Lean 4 came out) and something about the way Lean proofs are written does not align with how I think about proofs. My very brief attempts at Isabelle / RCoq feel more natural. I think it's the modern language which has taken the most lessons from lisps, and has come up with some great ideas of its own too. There's lots to like, but I think I'm starting to get model fatigue. These come out 10x faster than new Javascript frameworks were coming out 10 years ago (at least new models are far easier to adopt).
