It's the fitness function: Make a model which is capable of predicting the next token. The next token of what? EVERYTHING. So what does this lead to? To a generic intelligence which is capable of responding/answering everything. If overfitted, the model just remembers every possibility in the world stops caring about this? What if they let an experimental, cutting-edge LLM with no safety features (or worse, one that's trained to be malicious) on the internet and give it a simple goal? A goal like "make the most money, by any means necessary", "find a way to coordinate, maybe it would be better to have a hot pad and hot lead, then add solder to that. As opposed to putting a blob of solder on the iron and trying to apply it like glue. Too much heat can damage the board or part of course. Use the right tips. You can also practice desoldering on them, or pick up broken electronics and desolder parts from those. There's a chance to practice repair (which is a completely different topic from soldering)! Odds are very high the problem is that you've made an unwanted solder bridge or you have a cold solder joint.
