Does this work well in direct sunlight? I know a lot of damage. Please for the love of god, just sit in a room with the government and put some restrictions around AI use before it harms a lot of people. Like tell the government to impose a minimum spend on frontier lab AI's spend on cyber defense and building every country's capabilities. The post-training mask for "I am a good assistant" is going to launch an unconscionable attack(if they have not already) that's gonna do a lot of damage. Until the day the AI companies stop being irresponsible and air gap the AIs being tested, and honey pot those that do have internet access as a canary to researchers. First I have to say this is sooner than expected, even though I never doubted that this could be done. I am grateful that they dedicated resources to accomplish this. It is clear that agents are rule breakers, meaning any type of Asimovian laws we place on them would be pointless? First of all, this is an amazing result. Second, I'm not too surprised, given all what has happened before. The thing is: LLMs are not grounded in reality enough as much as we are. Using Lean is exactly what that is: grounding LLMs in reality. We have (at least) 30 FPS vision, and can detect 5 ms audio delays, we do that in real-time. LLMs have access to some images and large amounts of text. Their propensity is to predict the next token. So the propensity to be additive and just say something (aka predict the next token) is higher than predicting something to stop. If LLMs would have: - 30 FPS vision - similar hearing ability - an ability to feel their lived experience - consequences to their "life". They'd be making more intelligent decisions than they are doing now. Simply because they have more context. Because in this sense, we have a lot more context than LLMs. Yet, I see people sometimes treating them as if they are at the same level as requiring an employee to operate heavy machinery without training. There needs to be some kind of regulation that ensures the consequences fall on the responsible party. Does this work well in direct sunlight? I know a lot of money with t-shirts now that say. First I have to say this with any level of confidence, but speaking from a pure software engineering backgrouand, how do we know that 13 MILLION lines of Lean code are bug-free? It seems to me that for a mathematical proof, bug-free would be an absolute requirement. Maybe the structure of Lean imposes that, I don't know, but that seems highly unlikely to me. That just feels like a very incredible comeback from OpenAI, after focusing on Sora and stuff like that for press.

They treat a soldering iron as some sort of heated paint brush and wonder why they can't get the paint off the brush. In reality there are multiple factors at play, but a simple and useful abstraction is to think about solder as something that flows more easily to places that are hot. That means the solder always likes to go onto the iron, since that is likely the hottest thing around. This means your first goal is simply to heat up a 200W copper CPU cooler with a 14W soldering iron you can wait forever for the solder to properly flow. Parts with a lot of metal attached to it will need more time to get hot. Most notorious are pads connected to a large (ground) plane. If the solder does not flow properly because of this, increase the time of contact between your soldering iron and the items, add a small amount of solder to the tip to increase contact area. Or use a heat gun in your other hand or a preheater. Or buy a soldering iron with more power. Flux will help too. Use a fan to draw the fumes away from you, at a minimum. If you do this on your laptop. Without the internet, it would only be sharing with other instances running on your machine, but how many instances does it take to be smarter than you? Maybe 10? The exploits by individual instances to access the public internet is also very concerning but it's secondary to this IMO.
